Important updates
From time to time, we’ll communicate changes that impact the CBHS International Health products and services that you need to be aware of. These changes are communicated via email so it’s important that you keep your email address up-to-date on your membership.
CBHS International Health no longer offers Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) or Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC).
If you need cover beyond your policy expiry date, you’ll need to arrange health insurance with another provider. Please visit privatehealth.gov.au for a list of Australian health insurers offering OSHC and OVHC policies.
For existing members, your cover and benefits continue as normal. See more on our OSHC or OVHC FAQ pages.
OSHC
Changes communicated to members:
- Removal of Access Gap Cover (AGC) (OSHC Standard only), Reduced claim lodgement period (OSHC only) and New terminology for Prostheses List, effective 1 September 2024 (communicated 3 and 4 July 2024)
- CBHS benefits at Healthscope private hospitals - Healthscope has announced it intends to terminate its current agreement with CBHS. There are no immediate changes for CBHS members. You will remain fully covered as per your level of cover at Healthscope hospitals until 3 March 2025. Communicated 8 and 9 January 2025.
OVHC
Changes communicated to members:
- Removal of Access Gap Cover (AGC), and New terminology for Prostheses List, effective 1 September 2024 (communicated 3 and 4 July 2024)
- Updates for General Practitioner (GP) and Telehealth consultations for OVHC Mid and Top Overseas Worker Hospital and Medical cover, effective 29 December 2024 (communicated 31 October 2024)
- CBHS benefits at Healthscope private hospitals - Healthscope has announced it intends to terminate its current agreement with CBHS. There are no immediate changes for CBHS members. You will remain fully covered as per your level of cover at Healthscope hospitals until 3 March 2025. Communicated 8 and 9 January 2025.
